It is Unit Study Book No. 506, and was published in Columbus, Ohio by American Education Press in 1935. Measuring 5 3/8' x 8 1/4", with thirty-six pages and numerous halftone photographs, this thin paperback was meant to be used in elementary sc…hools as a supplementary text. The front cover features an old engraving of Eli Whitney's cotton gin, which is surrounded by an intricate border depicting various technological and natural marvels - the border was generic for the series. The photographs scattered through the text are interesting in the way they present the labors of a bygone era, which has mostly been lost to the mists of time. Education, Salem College) IMPRINT : American Education Press PLACE : Columbus, Ohio DATE : 1935 STATUS : Out of Print - OP DETAILS : Slim paperback textbook; contains one engraved image and numerous halftone photographs; contains suggested activities and review questions; 36 pages; 5 3/8" x 8 1/4"; pictorial wraps, stapled and glued CONDITION -- FAIR -- This is a previously owned book that has seen use and displays that use in various ways, with the following particulars noted : EXTERIOR - There is modest weathering along the spine fold; the staples have rusted and discolored the paper of the spine fold whereat they are attached; there is an impact crease to the foot of the spine; stress creases extending from the spine fold; there are scattered minute 'tea' stains and small spots and smudges; small ink stain to foot of rear cover; there is a crease across the top , rear fore-edge corner. BINDING - The staples have rusted, but still seem to be firmly attached; no leaves are detached or loose. INTERIOR - There is a discernible damp stain throughout the book, extending from the bottom fore-edge corners to about half the length of the spine ; the aforementioned darkening caused by the staples are visible at various points; no writing, signatures, marginalia or marking.
