Contact with these people has made us realize that even when they are hospitalized for hepatitis-related complications, they blame HIV and not Chronic Hepatitis C (CHC). The main psychological implication is anxiety, which was found in all of the subjects, which surprised us given that the literature places depression as the most frequent psychological symptom associated with HIV/AIDS infection, and no similar finding was found in relation to CHC. Im Kontakt mit diesen Menschen haben wir festgestellt, dass sie selbst bei Krankenhausaufenthalten wegen hepatitisbedingter Komplikationen HIV und nicht der chronischen Hepatitis C (CHC) die Schuld geben. Dies hat uns überrascht, da in der Literatur Depressionen als häufigstes psychologisches Symptom im Zusammenhang mit einer HIV/AIDS-Infektion genannt werden und keine vergleichbaren Ergebnisse in Bezug auf CHC gefunden wurden. Die angewandte qualitative Methodik zielte darauf ab, in dieser Arbeit einen explorativen, beschreibenden und analytischen Überblick über die Erfahrungen und das Leben von 17 Personen mit HIV/AIDS und HCC zu geben, denen wir versuchten, eine Stimme zu geben, indem wir ihr physisches, psychologisches und soziales Leiden zum Ausdruck brachten.

Il contatto con queste persone ci ha fatto capire che anche quando vengono ricoverate per complicazioni legate all'epatite, danno la colpa all'HIV e non all'epatite cronica C (CHC). La principale implicazione psicologica è l'ansia, che è stata riscontrata in tutti i soggetti, il che ci ha sorpreso se si considera che la letteratura indica la depressione come il sintomo psicologico più frequente associato all'infezione da HIV/AIDS e che non sono stati trovati risultati simili in relazione alla CHC. La metodologia qualitativa utilizzata ha voluto dare a questo lavoro un contorno esplorativo, descrittivo e analitico delle esperienze e delle vite di 17 persone con HIV/AIDS e HCC, alle quali abbiamo cercato di dare voce nell'espressione della loro sofferenza fisica, psicologica e sociale.

A principal implicação psicológica é a ansiedade, encontrada em todos os sujeitos, o que nos surpreendeu dado que a literatura coloca a depressão como sintoma psicológico mais frequente associado à infecção pelo VIH/SIDA, não se tendo encontrado idêntica constatação em relação à HCC. A metodologia qualitativa utilizada visou dar a este trabalho um contorno exploratório, descritivo e analítico das experiências e vivências de 17 indivíduos portadores de VIH/SIDA e de HCC, a quem tentamos dar voz, na expressão do seu sofrimento físico, psicológico e social.
