Book #5 in this series of 10 books for YA girls in the 1920s written by a woman with profuse experience as the director of Girl Scout in Philadelphia, PA. In 252 pages + 4 pages of ads for other children's series in rear, with a glossy frontispiece by Mead Schaettes (with design replicated on front DJ). A 1922 FIRST EDITION, later printing (listing to book #5 in front, #8 in rear), this 12mo has blue cloth over boards decorated in black & & orange with girl scout image/lettered in gilt to front & spine. Condition is VG: very clean & crisp, corners & spine tips lightly bumped & rubbed. Binding slightly cocked, but solid; both hinges secure. Pages creamy white with modest tanning, heavier around edges, but completely unmarked save for former owner's name in light pencil to ffep (we respectfully always leave the names of these long-ago readers intact). The unclipped DJ is Good+, with slight rubbing to extremities, a few short, unclosed tears & chips, creasing, light surface soiling; nicely protected in new clear mylar cover.
