En 2020, alors qu'elle prépare so…n exposition à la Fondation finalement reportée en raison de la pandémie , Laura Owens s'installe à Arles et commence, avec LUMA, à inviter des artistes de la région dans la maison de la rue du Cloître. Au fil de l'été, elle y réalise céramiques, mosaïques, fresques, rideaux sérigraphiés et objets textiles, transformant progressivement le lieu en un espace à la fois domestique et artistique. Jusqu'en juillet 2023, vingt-trois artistes collaborateurs, amis et anciens élèves se succèdent dans cette maison-atelier. Leurs séjours, de quelques semaines à plusieurs mois, laissent chacun une empreinte : le lieu devient une uvre collective. Introduit par Laura Owens, le livre réunit des contributions de Bice Curiger, Maja Hoffmann et Julie Boukobza, ainsi que les témoignages des vingt-trois artistes.
