In fact, especially after some generations, when the numbers of members would grow, blood linkages are not enough to guarantee the continuity of the relationship among family members. What makes family relationship last longer are shared values and sense of belonging. In our analysis of three well-established companies, Arco, Musgrave group and Berry Bro & Rudd Limited, we noticed that also family companies' longevity secret lies in these same principles that maintain together family members through different generations. Adopting family values and extending them to the company culture will determine the long-term survival of family relationship with the business. In the three companies we examined the internal understanding of family's values appear to define the entire organization's behaviours.

During period of generational change, the company offers both the incumbent and the successor a great challenge. This sensitive issue thus has to be conducted with careful planning because it is one of the most critical phases in the life cycle of a company, with a lot of chances and risks linked to the process. Further successions are also complicated, with half of established family run companies successfully reaching the second generation stage, but only around three or four percent successfully mastering the handover to a third generation. The causes of these succession issues are varied, and the challenges they create will be investigated in this piece. As such, further research is needed in this area, including the specific succession challenges faced in German Family Businesses, and strategies to overcome them. The primary research question is: What are the key generational challenges faced by German Family Businesses, and to what extent do they create risks of failure for these businesses.

He was an internationally renowned scholar of Indian philosophy and Buddhism. His untimely death in 2012 prevented him from finishing several significant projects. This volume contains a partial reconstruction of materials relating to the planned revision of his book "The Ideas and Meditative Practices of Early Buddhism" (1988), as well as scripts and lecture manuscripts on fundamental aspects of Indian thought, Advaita Vedanta, special aspects of Buddhist teaching, and the earliest Chinese translations of Buddhist texts. Additionally, it offers an English translation of Professor Vetter's inaugural lecture in Leiden, revised English versions of three published articles, and a complete bibliography of his publications by A.
