Hard cover Red cloth with gilt tiles to spine. Octavo. 169 pages with an additional 122 pages of photographic images and one folding map. Clean and unmarked. Tight binding. Very good. The expedition helped map previously uncharted regions of Alaska's interior, including the Copper River Valley and adjacent river systems. The detailed reports and maps produced by the expedition were used by miners, prospectors, and later infrastructure projects during the Alaska gold rush era and in planning transportation corridors.
