Stapled Wraps. First Edition, First Printing. Unpaginated [56 pp.]. Quarto (11" × 8.5"). Pictorial card covers, twice stapled. A richly illustrated school period yearbook for the 1952 academic year, and commemorating the 60th anniversary of Norquay School in Winnipeg. Replete with black-and-white photographs, portraits, group po…rtraits, charts, tables, facsimiles, and student illustrations. Prefaced with a historical overview of the school by Principal F.C. Davey, the volume includes the valedictory address of Jean Kozlowski, students' accounts of the 1952 royal visit to Winnipeg, printed poetry by pupils of all grades, and a particularly compelling narrative by Ukrainian student Lydia Obrtoza recounting her family's harrowing journey from then Soviet-Ukraine. Covers show significant wear along the spine with minor chipping and closed tears at the staple line; mimeographed leaves remain clean and well-preserved.
