Cloth is worn, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, a little rubbed around edges, discoloured and sunned over spine. Text block edges tanned. Endpapers and adjoining leaves heavily tanned else internally neat, clean and tight, if a little less than bright. The eleventh edition of 'Snowdon's' - the turn of the century bible and guide for magistrates and police officers for understanding and interpreting the law - was the first to contain also a section for the benefit of justices.  .
