INSCRIBED / SIGNED by the AUTHOR directly on the front free endpaper. Below his signature, he has added a cute drawing of a rabbit peeking out of a top hat. SIGNED copies are SCARCE. Near… Fine condition in a beautiful bright, shiny Fine dust jacket. NOT price clipped ($14.95). The jacket is protected by a removable Brodart clear-plastic sleeve. NO chips, tears, creases or fading. NOT a library discard. NOT a remainder. The book itself would also be FINE but for faint shadows on the cover from tiny pieces of tape that formerly secured the Brodart sleeve (NOT the dust jacket) to the cover. Now all tape has been neatly and completely removed. Square and reasonably tight. All pages are fresh, crisp, clean, and unmarked. No underlining. No highlighting. No margin notes. Illustrated with whimsical colorful dust jacket paintings (front and back) and cartoon-like drawings in the text by Eric von Schmidt. Bound in the original red cloth stamped in black. On the book's front board there is different rabbit coming out of a top hat. From the publisher: "The adventures of a family of magicians traveling across the western deserts and plains in the 1880s.". INSCRIBED / SIGNED by the AUTHOR. Later printing (1988?) of 1962 original.
