Published by the Trustees of the National Galleries of Scotland for the exhibition Eileen Agar 1899-1991: A Centenary Exhibition that ran between 1st December 1999 to 27th February 2000 at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, then at the Leeds City Art Gallery from 9th March to 30th April 2000. Agar is often categorised as a Surrealist and was among the small selection of British artists chosen to exhibit alongside Salvador Dali, Max Ernst and Joan Miro in the 1936 International Surrealist Exhibition in London. From the inner flap: "She drew equally from Cubism and abstraction to form a uniquely individual style with which to express her surrealistic fantasies". As new.
