Hardcover. Condition: Good. Oblong quarto. Sting-tied black board measuring 11" x 7". A collection of 190 sepia toned photos and approximately a dozen newspaper clippings and postcards affixed to stiff black paper, captioned. Various sizes including 2" x 4", 1.25" x 2.5", 4.5" x 2.5", 3" x 4.5", and others. Good only, lacking the front board with tears throughout and smudging on some of the photos and captions. The album begins with a note from Smidet stating, "Bought this book September 15, 1924 it contains photographs of interest to myself and others possible. This book is dedicated to my memory and the interests and amusement of others." It follows the exploits of Ralph Smidet of Puyallup, Washington through trips to Rondo Beach, Oregon, and to various parts of Washington including Olympia, as well as his time at the University of Washington. There are photos of the campus, women posing with captions such as, "Sheik and Shebas," as well as various sporting events including the Washington crew team of 1924 who were intercollegiate champions. Also included are a number of pictures taken around the family home of Smidet's relatives.
