Book First Edition
Hardback. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. Eunice Young Smith (illustrator). First Edition. STATED FIRST EDITION! NOT a library discard; privately owned! Hardback book with dust jacket. VERY GOOD BOOK with a fair dust jacket. The blue cloth book is sturdy, clean and complete with corners lightly rounded. Lovely decorated endpapers! Owner name marked out, "Xmas 1952" written inside the front cover and a small paper lift on the front endpaper where a tag was removed. The text pages are clean, neat and tear-free with a couple of light fingermarks. The jacket is NOT price-clipped $2.50. The bottom 3 1/2" of the spine is missing, and there are some chips/tears along the edges. There is a large (about 6") tear on the cover but it has been neatly tape-repaired on the back (pretty good job!). I've added a fresh mylar cover and other than the LARGE chip on the spine (about 40% of it is missing), it looks pretty good.
