First edition hard back binding in publisher's original powder blue paper covered boards, gilt title and author lettering to the navy cloth spine and to the upper panel. Quarto 10'' x 8''. Contains 299 printed pages of text with monochrome maps, tables and photographs, 2 colour maps in back cover pocket. Age darkened closed page edges, ghosting to the end papers. In near Fine condition, no dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A. LIVERPOOL.
