Yellow cloth with blue lettering on spine. A fine copy in a carefully restored dust jacket (repairs and reinforcements); not price clipped ($3.25); in an archival mylar sleeve. 216 pages. A scarce copy of this juvenile mystery, which revolves around two teen-age members of an archaeological society who decide to make a journey in search of a mythical lost valley and an ancient Indian village in a remote section of the Ozark Mountains. A captivating and adventurous novel with a diverse cast of characters. Lois Snelling (1893-1988) was a longtime resident of Benton County and the city of Rogers in northwest Arkansas. She was the author of three other juvenile mysteries, all of which are set in the Ozark region of Arkansas: Treasure in the Valley (1958), Strange Case at Willowood (1959), and Secret of the Red Gourd (1961). She also wrote a biography of the populist presidential candidate and developer of the Arkansas resort community of Monte Ne, William Hope ''Coin'' Harvey. Signed by Author(s).
