Condition: Very Good. Enfield, [MA]: S. Howe, [1838]. Printed broadsheet with verse printed in two columns with woodcut at title. Edgewear and spotting; minor creasing; Very Good. Humorous verse about a young man who lost a bride when he would not marry her without receiving a mare as well. Replied Kate, "And I'm sure that a woman must meet her last prayer, / To marry a man who once courted a mare!" Publication date from the 1950 Proceedings of the American Antiquarian Society. No copies in retail at time of this writing.
