Complete. 400 pages, with illustrations, full page color map, many additional maps and 3 fold-outs. xvi + 400 + 88. Old tape repairs to title page and front index. Rubbing and minor scuffing to leather. Old moisture staining to bottom edge of index. Complete Volume I + first issues of Volume II from 1862. Also includes a later facsimile reprint of the final issue of the The Daily Citizen, edited by J. M. Swords, dated July 2, 1862, the last newspaper printed at Vicksburg before the fall of the city to Union forces. Attached to front endpaper by old tape. A remarkable volume, rarely found complete.

    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Elephant folio size volume containing all known issues. 400 + 88 pages. There is also some introduction pages with 2 missing. No pages are missing from the issues. There is a 2 page hand colored map and 3 four page foldout plates along with many full and 2 page prints. The 4 page prints have split on the folds on a couple but are complete. This is ex library from a famous library. They had it bound years ago. One small bookplate and a few small stamps to backs of a few plates. Their heavy duty binding has saved this in very good condition and makes it very useful. No stains or foxing. The best condition we have seen out of 5 copies over the years. Many great large images.
