Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. This G+ quality book was published in 1908 by the A. L. Burt Company; it was published earlier that year by L. C.Page & Company. It is 7-1/2" tall and has 293 numbered pages followed by 15 unnumbered pages of ads. It is square, moderately-to-heavily soiled, with no edge dings but with all four corners bumped with tiny points of the board showing at each corner; the head and heel of the spine are bumped with fraying at each end; bottom edges have a heavy amount of wear but the boards are not showing; the top edges are pretty much undamaged. The front panel is undamaged with no signs of wear but is darkened due to soiling. Except for an inked inscription on the FFEP (see photo), the interior is completely free of writing and stray marks; several pages have small, non-intrusive stains and a couple of pages have short tears that do not go into the text. The only illustration is the frontis. The front hinge is undamaged but the paper is torn over the rear hinge, exposing the cheese clothe beneath--however, both hinges remain strong. The paper has aged quite well and has only very mild toning and is still very flexible. It looks rather scruffy but it is better than a reading copy.
