Through detailed case studies and innovative experimental techniques, the author sheds light on the complex interplay between the vestibular system, vision, and the musculoskeletal system in shaping our perception of balance and spatial orientation. This book is not merely a chronicle of scientific discoveries but a profound exploration of the vestibular system's role in human consciousness and its implications for our understanding of self and the world around us. First Edition
Jena, Verlag von Gustav Fischer, 1894, gr.-8°, XX, 697 Seiten, 3 Blätter, mit 190 Textabbildungen, Halbleinenband d.Zt. Erste deutsche Ausgabe! Vorwort des Übersetzers "Stein studied the functions of seperate parts of the labyrinth." - "Title translation: Instructions on the functions of the individual parts of the inner ear. This volume is the German edition, translated from the Russion, a second volume exists that never has been translated (Webb, Dordick. Catalog 59, p.93)." Annotated Bibliography of the Dennis G.
