First Edition
First edition. Octavo, pictorial wrappers. Authentic Science Fiction Series [No. 1]. "The thing which emerged from the machine was like nothing so much as a huge purple-green mushroom, about five feet in height. The creature had a short, stubby stalk, topped by a thick fleshy cap or dome. The dome was covered with green fibrous threads and round the edge ran a sort of fringe of tentacles about an inch thick." "The terrible cover and title all combined to make this one of the all-time stinkeroos" - Harbottle and Holland. [Reference: Harbottle and Holland A346]. Wear to spine ends with some loss to lower spine and lower left front corner, a very good copy. Called by some uncommon, it does not seem to be the case. (24431).

"One of the fashionable variants on the film Destination Moon, but still of some interest because of some quite good characterization: the moon crew are made up of well-delineated individuals, rather than the usual cardboard type."- Harbottle and Holland. [Reference: Harbottle and Holland A348]. Mild wear to spine ends, mild edge rubs, a very good to nearly fine copy. (24434).
