Lievi restauri con sottile integrazione di con carta di riso al margine basso bianco delle prime 3 carte e delle ultime tre carte . Lievissimo consolidamento agli angoli superio…ri bianchi delle prime dieci carte e di 8 altre carte (questi restauri sono sempre minimi). Alcuni angoli esterni arrotondati e alcune carte tagliate in modo diseguale, ininfluente. Gli abili restauri, riguardano, sempre i margini esterni bianchi. I volumi di spezieria e farmacia, proprio per il tipo di utilizzo che ne veniva fatto, sono spesso soggetti a segni d'usura. Nel complesso, all'interno, l'esemplare si presenta in più che discrete condizioni di conservazione. Terza rara edizione, più rara sia della prima che della seconda, di questo importante trattato di farmacia che contiene, alla fine, il trattato della Theriaca. Gli autori dell'opera, in quest'edizione, notevolmente aumentata da Stecchini, rispetto alle due edizioni precedenti (questa è la prima edizione curata e con le aggiunte di Stecchini), tanto che molte pagine sono qui presenti in prima edizione, furono tutti speziali della celeberrima Farmacia dello Struzzo di Venezia, la più celebre farmacia veneziana dell'epoca. Nell'opera sono raccolti centinaia di ricette farmaceutiche per la preparazione di medicine e preparati erboristici. Scrive la dottoressa Sabrina Minuzzi nella sua tesi di laurea dal titolo "Sul filo dei segreti medicinali: praticanti e professionisti del mercato della cura a Venezia, Università degli Studi di Verona": ""Oltretutto, con gli anni, Paolo Romani accresceva fama e notorietà per sé e per la spezieria nella quale operava, probabilmete anche grazie alla brevettazione dei suoi sciroppi solidificati, tanto che all'altezza del 1627 Alberto Stecchini, lo speziale autore degli Avvertimenti nelle composizioni de' medicamenti per uso della speciaria, potrà dire della farmacia allo Struzzo: "E si come gli anni passati fu famosa & honorata per la rara virtù & valor de gli huomini che la regevano, & particolarmente per l'intelligenza grande che M. Georgio Melichio B.M. havea delle cose appartenenti alla spetiaria, così al tempo d'hoggi è nel maggior colmo che sia mai stata per l'ingegno & bontà singolare del signor Paolo Romani, che al presente ne è pattrone, allievo e successore del sudetto M. Giorgio". Così nel 1595 tra gli speziali veneziani e Paolo Romani si era ingaggiata una lite destinata a durare oltre due anni: al priore e ai consiglieri vengono affiancati sei aggiunti "per consultar, comparar, sollicitar, et deffender la predetta lite contro il predetto messer Paulo dal Struzzo". Un tentativo del 1596 di comporre la questione in modo "che ogn'uno di essi spitieri medicinali possi far quello li parerà nelle sue botteghe in materia della loro professione de spetiari medicinali" viene respinto sul nascere dai membri dell'arte, con un solo voto favorevole e 39 contrari"."". Prosegue poi la studiosa ""gli "Avvertimenti nelle compositioni medicinali di Giorgio Melliquio augustano", ci prepariamo ad entrare a pieno titolo in una delle spezierie medicinali più attive di Venezia: quella allo Struzzo sul ponte dei Baretteri, a pochi passi da piazza San Marco, gestita da Georg Melich augustano, naturalizzato Giorgio Melichio. In un certo senso è la bottega medicinale che dà continuità alla tradizione iatrochimica dei suoi titolari, inaugurata appunto dal tedesco Melichio "huomo dottissimo & nella sua professione è unico [], grandissimo distillatore." Stabilitosi a Venezia dopo aver approfondito le sue conoscenze farmaceutiche viaggiando fra la Grecia e l'Italia, nel 1565 Melichio è tra i maestri fondatori del collegio degli speziali, ben inserito nell'ambiente lagunare, in relazione con medici, speziali e distillatori. I suoi Avvertimenti nelle compositioni de' medicamenti per uso della spetiaria escono per la prima volta.
