The book is 7 1/8" by 9 3/8" and has about 100 pages with charming and unique black-and-white and color illustrations throughout. The text is also NOT printed but rather in a simple cursive. Contrasting cream-coloured spine with red stylings and titles. Slight fading to the edges of the boards. The jacket is neatly clipped but with the addition of a price sticker (12/6 net). Minimal edgewear, just a few touches at the top of the spine and corners, but really, a very good example. The jacket is now in a removable protective mylar sleeve. No inscriptions or blemishes in the text. Adshead [1904-1995] was a muralist and artist as well as an illustrator. A picture book with a purpose, the boys travel around the world looking at the boats produced by various peoples learning how the boats are specific to the needs of each culture.
