Letters are…to his wife in Gonzales, Mrs. Callie Jones Badger. Cavalry Company D was detached from the main Legion and served primarily in northern Mississippi. One of the letters gives a vivid description of his participation in the famous cavalry raid on the Union supply depot at Holly Springs.
