Marbled paper over boards, quarter green leather spine, title and decorations stamped in gilt onto upper board and spine, headbands, sprinkled edges, large 4to (11-3/4 inches tall), pp. 279, [280], profusely illustrated with numerous B&W photos throughout. Volume a little musty with p.o. gift ins. to ffep and a few scuff marks to spine. The uncommon DJ is soiled and creased with edge wear, large chips from top corner of upper panel and head of spine - now in an archival mylar sleeve. The local history of the third largest and one of the most beautiful cities in Norway, founded in 997 as a trading post.
