It is also noteworthy as a very early catalogue offering telephones, which had been invented less than 20 years earlier, at retail, at a time when very, very few areas were yet wired for telephone. It is estimated that in 1915, 20 years after this catalogue, still only 10 percent of American households had a telephone. At this time, that number would have been far lower.
