This practical guide explains how to orientate yourself when looking at a radar screen, and more importantly how to appreciate potentially dangerous situations as they develop in their early stages. The many other navigational advanteges that radar makes possible are clearly explained in this book, utilising particularly clear illustrations from the operator's viewpoint, and as seen on the chart. The author has written previous books on small-craft radar, and is a frequent contributor to the international yachting press. The final chapter and many illustrations have been the work of Gert Buttgenbach, who runs radar courses in the congester waters of the German Bight.
