2. London, The Stdio, 1899, large in-8°, 28 x 19,5 cm, 21 pp ( French translation ) + 82 pp + 5 coloured plates h.t., with numerous ills. in the text, with French summary. Bound in full green cloth, decorated end-papers, title in gilt on smooth spine. (original wrapper not bound in ). Very fine copy. Well illustrated survey of the art of bookbinding at the turn of the century. Particularly French and British bindings are described, this at the height of the Art Nouveau vogue.
