This work contains illustrations and brief descriptions of various earthworks and mounds, including Castle Hill, Thetford, Lismore, Waterford, Rath Riogh, Tara, Navan Fort, County Armagh and Earls Barton Mound and church, amongst many others.Thomas Davis Pryce (d. 1940) was a doctor and well-known antiquarian, contributing to numerous antiquarian and historical journals as well as working on a number of Roman in sites across Britain.Dedicated by the author, 'With T. Davies Pryce's best wishes', dated 1906.Undated; dated from the author's inscription.Bound with numerous blank pages for the reader to annotate.Illustrated, and with three folding plates.A one-of-a-kind work, with only one identical held institutionally. In a quarter cloth binding. Externally a little bumped to the head and tail of the spine, with the boards a little faded. Author's inscription to the half title page. Internally, firmly bound.
