Published in wrappers, this copy bound (without wrappers) into humble but very pleasing contemporary half cloth and papercovered boards. Binding worn, a tiny bit of insect damage on each of the pastedowns, front blank with a small chip and tear, text with occasional very light foxing, a handsome very good copy. Taliev was a well-known Russian botanist and evolutionary biologist, and the author of both textbooks and scientific works. While we admit our Russian isn't flawless, we locate only seven copies of this (or any) edition in *OCLC*, three in the U.S.: NYPL, U Chicago, and the Missouri Botanical Garden.
