One of England's greatest beauties called upon Montrose Arbuthnot in London and told him reasons the deaths of Mortimer Crane, the famous Egyptologist, and of Richard Lister, the lady's husband, both found dead in the ruins of Longmoor Hall had remained a mystery for so long. Arbuthnot agreed to take the case and try and unravel the mystery that had puzzled Scotland Yard for such a long time. Book.
