Soft cover. Condition: Very Good ++. 2'nd Printing. 200 pages; nine short stories - including (e.g.) : `A Hole With a Head in It', `Better Days', `Horses' and the title piece of the book. The author was born in Saskatchewan and is now a professor at a Montreal college. So things like the prairie oil industry, Quebecois phrases, and Leonard Cohen all seep into his writing. Music must also be of some significance to him as Steve Earle makes a literary appearance as does Tom Waits and the Beatles. UNillustrated. Cond : Paper wrapper is purple with yellow lettering. Front cover graphic involves footprints in sand. Very minor edge wear. No names, marks, creases, nor tears. Tight. Bright. Excellent reading copy. Quote (p. 75) : " The rim is chipped. He drinks his tea at the kitchen table with Granny and as soon as they are done, they go back to the sittingroom and a place is cleared for them on the smalll settee and his mother's lady friends bring them their empty cups and Granny reads ._._._. ."
