Hard Back. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. Deming, Edwin W. (illustrator). First Edition. 191 Pages. Library markings on front and back endpapers. Front cover and spine show some wear. Printed text is in blue, tight pages, and is free of marks. Lots of color illustrations from Edwin Deming. Having lived among Indians in various parts of the country for many years, Therese O. Deming is in a position to write authoritatively on Indian life. In this Indian Life Series she has contributed a truthful picture of everyday family-life as she observed it within the home and the Indian community. Mrs. Deming has an unusual understanding of the real nature of the red man, and this is shown in the way she has interpreted the true spirit and atmosphere of Indian life. The episodes in the books of this series are based on notes entered in her diary while she was living among the Indians. This book is a story of the adventures of two little Indian boys whose homes were birch-bark wigwams in the woodlands. It can be read with ease by third-grade children, but, like the other books of this series, it will also be read with interest and profit by the children of higher grades.
