Pierre Thiriot was one of the greatest artistic designers of the 1920s. He came to Paris in 1914 where he studied at the Ecole Des Arts Decoratifs. He was a dancer, a poet and a musician. It was his talent for artistic design however that came to be in high demand in the theaters, music halls, and casinos of that city. He received commissions to create sets at The Folies Bergeres and The Moulin Rouge. Images de Dance was published in 1938. The text was produced by Jeanne Ronsay, also a dancer. She features in one of the paintings. Condition: Very Good. The cover is marked by darker spots. The binding, whilst worn remains secure. The ribbons that once secured it are broken. The images within are slightly marked by signs of age - some browning at the edges and light foxing - but are in the main clean. The corners of the images are a little soft. There is a little damage to the edges of one or two. Also to the tips of corners. The text is in similar condition. At one point inky spots mark a page of text. Neither text or images have the appearance of handling however.
