Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Four volumes bound in red pebbled cloth, gilt titles on the spines, all edges stained red. No markings or inscriptions. Pages numbered up to 1244 in vol. 4; index. Colour frontis. of the human body, which folds out in three sections, with more folding organs, etc., in perfect condition. Colour and black & white plates throughout. No date, possibly 1920s or 30s. (There is a section on gas attack which references its banning under the Geneva Convention - 1925). Interesting section on the "science" of phrenology. Very light foxing sporadically, but a remarkably well-preserved set.
