Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Several authors, Louis Auchincloss, Vance Bourjaily, and William Gass, have either signed and dated their names, or inscribed this volume to the former Director of Rare Books & Special Collections at the University of Rochester, Peter Dzwonkoski. Lai…d in is a slip from William Heyen, explaining his acquisition of Peter's collection. This book was purchased directly from Mr. Heyen. The book has peach colored cloth covers with gilt lettering on the front board and on the black cloth spine cover. The end papers match the peach cloth covering of the boards. There are 229 pages to this volume that includes writing by Norman Mailer, Reynolds Price, Mary Renault, Mark Harris, Louis Auchincloss, John Fowles, Robert Crichton, Vance Bourjaliy, Truman Capote, Anthony Burgess, George P. Elliott, William Gass, Ross Macdonald, and Wright Morris. Mr. Auchincloss inscribed and dated this volume on the front free end paper, and Mr. Bourjaily's dated and signed below this. Mr. Gass inscribed the book on page 88. There is one leaf 175/176 that has a diagonal crease from the bottom edge to approximately 3/4 of the way up the fore edge. This leaf also appears to have not been trimmed to the same length as the others and extends beyond the others. The dust wrapper has minor surface marks, but no rips, tears, or markings. The dust wrapper is currently protected by a clear removable cover. This volume has the "First Edition" statement. Inscribed by Author(s).
