PREFACE Historically, U.S. military leaders have been plagued with problems of integrating the Reserve Components into the active force in virtually every conflict. During the last major mobilization of the Reserve Component for actual commitment to combat, the Korean War, these problems were particularly noticeable. The normal confusion surrounding any mobilization was compounded during the Korean War by the limited, and unequal nature of the callup, the unpreparedness of both Regular and Reserve Component forces, and lack of consensus among senior political and military leaders on .the" correct policy to pursue. Among the National Guard units mobilized during the war was the 300th Armored Field Artillery (AFA) of the Wyoming National Guard.133 pages.
