The Chase, Hobbinol (or the Rural Games), Field Sports, the Bowling Green and Miscellanies; Volume 2, 164pp. Odes, Epistles and Tales. Half leather, lightly stained at front edge of spine, parting at head. Heavily worn marbled boards, marbled endpapers. A charming thing. Somervile (1675 ? 1742) was an English poet especially remembered for "The Chace", in which he pioneered an early English georgic, elevating the literature of sporting pastimes.
