Presented September 21, 1950 by U.S. Marine Commander Augustine Thorogood to the great boxing champion Gene Tunney: "To Commander Gene Tunney, ex-captain U.S. Marines.&c." His inscription refers to pages 37-44, which document Tunney's presentation of the "Inter-Divisional Association Football Trophy" to the Royal Marines on behalf of the U.S. Marine Corps.
