Andreas Spillner ist Professor für Informatik an der Hochschule Bremen, Fakultät für Elektrotechnik und Informatik. Er war über 10 Jahre Sprecher der Fachgruppe TAV 'Test, Analyse und Verifikation von Software' der Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI) und bis Ende 2009 Mitglied im German Testing Board e.V. 2007 ist er zum Fellow der GI ernannt worden. Seine Arbeitsschwerpunkte liegen im Bereich Softwaretechnik, Qualitätssicherung und Testen. Einordnung des Testens in einen Gesamt-Testprozess in einem Projekt oder im Unternehmen. Dabei werden verschiedene Teilaspekte des Testens überblicksartig aufgezeigt und positioniert Strategie, Konzept, die Teilprozesse, unterstützende Verfahren, Test-Methoden, Metriken (nur angerissen) etc. Basis sind die IQuip Vorgehensweisen TPI und TMAP. Geeignet für den, der sich einarbeiten oder der etwas nachschlagen möchte und der die Wichtigkeit von Testen kennt und vorantreiben möchte. Prüf- und Testmethoden sind seit langem bekannt, werden aber nur selten optimal eingesetzt. Anhand dieses Buches lernt der Leser, eine Bestandsaufnahme und Bewertung seines eigenen Testprozesses durchzuführen, und erhält praktische Anleitungen für eine schrittweise Verbesserung des Testprozesses, ohne bestehende Abläufe völlig umstrukturieren zu müssen.
