This catalogue presents part of the British Museum's collection of drinking-cups and silver plate from the collection donated by Sir Hercules Read. The book is organized by list of plates, reference books and introduction before the catalogue of silver plate. Each of the plates is fully described, including dimensions and commentary on pages 1 through 51. Descriptions are complimented by illustrated figures and some b/w photographic reproductions. Following the index, the plates are shown in succession, plate I through LXII. Plates are b/w photographic reproductions. Corners with light bumping and rubbing. Spine sunned with light rubbing along hinges. Some scratches and staining to covers. Foxing to front and rear covers. Interior with some minor age toning to edges of pages, some age toning to plate pages, not affecting quality of images. Binding in very good-, interior in near fine condition overall.
