Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Original full leather covers and spine with highly tooled decorations front and rear covers, spine with 5 gilt bands and gilt lettering and 3 circular decorations, marbled cut edges, matching marbled EPs. Original binding and covers with no restorations. Sturdy binding and covers that can be handled casually (even roughly) without damaging the book. The book has rubbing along edges and corners, some rubbing and fading to spine (not bad), solid binding, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, NOT ex-library, several sections of consecutive significantly browned pages due to poorer quality paper (two 50 page runs and a few runs of 17 to 25 pages) with all other pages bright and not browned though sporadic foxing is found throughout (heaviest on the browned pages), solid binding with nothing loose or nothing close to breaking. The book measures 22cm tall x 15cm and has 649 pages followed by 6 pages of printed "distances," several b/w engravings including frontispiece illustration.
