The strong world wide competition in fabricating metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect of develop transistor (MOSFET) memorie…s has accelerated the pace ments in semiconductor technology. Bipolar transistors play a major role due to their high-speed performance. Delay times of about 20 ps per gate have already been achieved. Because of this rapid technologi cal progress, it is difficult to predict the future with any certainty. In 1987 a special session on ultrafast bipolar transistors was held at the European Solid-State Device Research Conference. Its aim was to sum marize the most recent developments and to discuss the future of bip olar transistors. This book is based on that session but also includes contributions by other participants, such that a broad range of up-to is presented. Several conclusions can be drawn from date information this information: the first and most important is the very large poten tial for future progress still existing in this field. This progress is char acterized by the drive towards higher speed and lower power con sumption required for complex single-chip systems, as well as by sev eral concrete technological implementations for fulfilling these dem is that a large part of this potential can be ands. The second conclusion realized by rather unsophisticated techniques and configurations well suited to uncomplicated transfer to fabrication.

Ansonsten im einwandfreien Zustand. - Inhalt: Mit der stärkeren Beachtung der geistigen Grundlagen antiker u…nd mittelalterlich deutscher Herrschaftsauffassung mehrte sich auch das Verständnis für die politischen Ideen des oströmischen Reiches. Gelegentliche Bemerkungen und Untersuchungen ergaben ein eigenartig geschlossenes Bild, aber noch mußten die Quellen den Aufriß ergänzen und stützen. Diese Aufgabe war der vorliegenden Arbeit für das Teilgebiet des Zeremoniells gestellt. Da die Arbeit am 7. Juni 1936 der Philosophischen Fakultät der Universität München als Preisaufgabe vorlag, war sie noch vor der fast gleichzeitigen Auswertung des archäologischen und bildlichen Materials durch A. Grabar, L empereur dans 1 art byzantin, Paris 1936, fertig. Es ergab sich hier wie dort das gleiche stark magisch und mystisch gefärbte Bild einer irdischen Civitas Dei, das in seiner geistigen Grundlegung so nahe an die Kirche, das corpus Christi mysticum, herantritt, daß man, um die Nähe und zugleich den Abstand des politischen Gebildes gegenüber dem religiösen der Kirche anzudeuten, dieses Reich mit den Worten des Staatsphilosophen Franz Suarez als corpus politicum mysticum bezeichnen kann. Das Kennwort stehe deshalb weiter über der Arbeit. Die Untersuchung von Grabar wurde ebenso wie die weitere Literatur nachgetragen. Es braucht kaum betont zu werden, daß die vorliegende Arbeit als zusammenfassende Deutung eines großen Gebietes in einzelnen Punkten noch ausgebaut werden kann, daß aber die dazu nötigen Voruntersuchungen und Monographien den Rahmen des Themas sprengen würden. Zum Schluß genüge ich noch der angenehmen Pflicht wie dem aufrichtigen Bedürfnis und danke meinem verehrten Lehrer, Herrn Prof. Dr. F. Dölger, der mich in jedem Sinne förderte, auf das herzlichste. Gewidmet ist die Arbeit meinem 1b. Onkel, Studienprofessor M. Treitinger, Regensburg, der vor mehr als einem Jahrzehnt an die Stelle der verstorbenen Eltern trat.
