Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Contains the long essay by a previous Editor, Francis Shaw on 1916, called "The Canon of Irish History - A Challenge". This provoked intense reaction. Tipped in is a cutting of a review by F.S.L. Lyons from the Irish Times which begins, "The Summer Number of Studies carries an important article by the late Father Francis Shaw S.J., which, though dating from 1966, has, with the passage of time, become even more strikingly relevant to our present predicament than when it was written". The essay was not printed in 1966 because of its length (36 pages) and controversial nature. Cover is somewhat faded by sun. Tightly bound, clean, bright copy.
