Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. None Stated; Possible First. This is a lovely copy of a lovely book, lavishly illustrated. The binding is sound, the pages are clean and free from signs of prior use. The paper is lightly age-toned. The jacket is mildly chipped at the top and tail of the spine and at the corners, but otherwise intact. It is decorated with an attractive image of a robin redbreast, a butterfly or moth, a caterpillar and foliage, in russet, white and gray-green against a dark green field. No edition is stated, and the publisher is on record as not designating printings, but the price on the jacket is given as 21/-net, if that helps to place it. It must have been with a sense of relief that the British settled back into producing pleasant, affirmative books such as this after the horrors and rigors of the war.
