Peper Covers. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. The book is a philosophical exploration of the institution of marriage, written in the early 20th century by Aloce MooreHubbard, wife of Elbert Hubbard. She was a noted American feminist and writer. She and her husband, Elbert Hubbard, were leading figures in the Roycroft movement…, a branch of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Both Elbert and Alice Hubbard died on the sinking of the Lusitania, by a German submarine, in 1915. 79pp, fixed silk page-marker. The small by very attractive little book is bound in semi rigid, leather with debossed titles and designs to the front, and to a much lesser extent, the back. Only defect - a handfull of pages were roughly opened - only minor in effect. Otherwise the pages are bright white and without any marks. Image available. Raymond Nott ; A. V.
