Hardcover. Condition: Good. Rare antique 1832 copy of, "Memoirs of John Urquhart." The book is overall in good condition with signs of wear and age. The covers have some scuffing and wear. The binding is good and sound. There is an old bookplate adhered to the front pastedown. The interior is toned from age with some occasional foxing & grubbiness. A couple of pages have a minor marginal chip or tear. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection, such as a creased corner, minor stain, etc. The book measures approximately 6 inches by 3 3/4 inches and is 174 pages long. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition. From McClintock and Strong Biblical Cyclopedia: Urquehart [Urquhart], John a graduate of the University of St. Andrew's, Scotland, and a youth of singular promise and piety, was born in Perth, June 7, 1808. In April, 1824, he made a decided profession of piety, and consecrated his powers entirely to the service of his Redeemer. He left the university in 1826 with the reputation of being by far the most eminent of his class, although then but seventeen years of age. He decided to become a missionary to the heathen, but, on account of his youth, was induced to wait a while before entering upon the arduous duties of that station. He died Jan. 10,1827, at the age of eighteen.
