Original cloth binding is chipped and rubbed on the spine, and is overall slightly soiled and shelfworn; protected in archival Mylar. Signed and inscribed by George A. Carpenter (1867-1944 a former Federal District Court Judge. The front endpaper is detached, the inner front hinge is tender, and there are several gatherings of pages that are starting to loosen. The text had minor smudging, but is otherwise clean and unmarked. First edition. Size: Octavo (8vo). Book.
