A rare first edition of the most famous work of French surgeon and researcher Benjamin Anger, with a preface by surgeon Alfred-Armand-Louis-Marie Velpeau on the progress of surgery at the time. Velpeau was a very famous surgeon and anatomist in France at the time, credited with providing the first accurate description of leukemia.
