Forte carta immacolata nelle sue barbe.Joseph-Louis LAGRANGE (Torino 1736-Parigi 1813), matematico e astronomo TORINESE per nascita e formazione e attivo a Berlino e a Parigi, tra i maggiori e più influenti matematici del XVIII secolo. VASSALLI EANDI, allievo di Giovanni Battista Beccaria, si occupò di galvanismo e meteo, ma scrisse anche numerose opere a scopo didattico, dedicate alla fisica, alla geometria, alla matematica, all'algebra. Queso scritto, rimasto nelle bilbioteca di Prospero Balbo, viene qui edito, postumo, per la prima volta.

In 4, pp. 9 + (1b) con una tav. f.t. inc. all'acq. rip. raffigurante l'atmidometro. Gora d'umido al marg. inf. con perdita della carta senza intaccatura del testo. Br. rifatta con carta d'epoca. Descrizione dell'atmidometro utilizzato da Vassalli per gli esperimenti di misurazione dell'evaporazione acquea. ITA.

In-4°, pp. 16, brossura marmorizzata ottocentesca. Prima e unica edizione, rara, di questa memoria medica stesa a più mani dal Vassalli Eandi, dal Rossi e dal Borsarelli. I tre studiosi forniscono un resoconto degli effetti di diversi veleni somministrati a vari animali, in prevalenza rane. L'abate Vassalli Eandi (Torino, 1761-ivi, 1825), nipote dello scienziato Giuseppe Antonio, fu professore di fisica a Tortona e all'Università della propria città, dove ebbe come allievo l'Avogadro. Francesco Rossi, nato a Torino nel 1769, ivi morto nel 1841, fu medico nonché direttore della classe di scienze fisico-matematiche dell'Accademia delle Scienze. Il Borsarelli fu chimico farmaceutico a Torino e socio della locale Accademia di Agricoltura. Quérard, France Littéraire, VIII, p. 160.

L'Autore fu Professore di fisica all'Universita' di Torino, curò l'edizione di questi "Annales" su espressa richiesta di Prospero Balbo, allora Rettore dell'Accademia degli Studi di Torino. In quest'opera egli raccolse diversi saggi scritti dai più celebri scienziati dell'epoca su: astronomia, meteorologia, agricoltura, botanica, medicina. Rinforzo cartaceo coevo al dorso. Lieve gora al secondo volume ma esemplare perfettamente conservato in barbe, stampato su carta forte. Brossura editoriale cartacea a stampa, titoli entro cornice, pp. 114 - 132, in 4°.
