Die für die Chronik massgebende Auffassung des Weltgeschehens entspricht der christlichen Tradition, ist aber humanistisch ausgeformt. . Werros humanistische Bildung kommt auch in der reichen Quellenkenntnis, besonders der Kirchengeschichte, zur Geltung. Sebastian Werro (Freiburg/Schweiz 1555 - Freiburg/Schweiz 1614) was an influential theologian and leader of the Catholic reform in Switzerland.
