Internally there's the very occasional thumb mark on pages, otherwise a neat, clean and bright volume. A handsome volume that is beautifully illustrated throughout, with so many stories of the seas, the ships that sailed them and of the men and the voyages they undertook.

II; both volumes with interleaves of explanatory descriptive text; light rubbing to extremities of boards; hinges slightly weakened; minimal offsetting and spotting, a very good set. With a loosely inserted photocopy of a handwritten programme of the earlier section of the Prince's visit from May 4th to 13th, 1907. Volume I covers Prince Fushimi's visit to the Ordnance Works at Erith, 15th May 1907, and the second volume of his visit to the Naval Construction Works at Barrow-in-Furness, 21st May 1907. Prince Fushimi Hiroyoshi's trip to Britain in 1907 was a significant diplomatic mission during the early 20th century, with the trip working to strengthen diplomatic ties between the two nations, seeing Japan rise to become an increasingly important player on the World Stage.
